Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
