England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.

The ceremony will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
