Sam Fender has given the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the trust for venues, which operates to preserve the Britain's independent live music spots.

He was given the prize on October 16 as his new release his work was named the best record of the last 12 months.

He has opted to hand the money over to the trust, in appreciation of the crucial part local spots fulfilled in his early career.

"As an artist wouldn't be doing my current career if it weren't for all the shows I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was beginning," said Sam Fender. "These venues are renowned, but they are in difficulty."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – about 16% of the entire UK sector.

In the last year, major artists like Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the trust in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by including a modest fee to their ticket costs, which benefits local stages.

He also joined in, raising in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous small stages across the UK.

These funds assisted spaces that were confronting imminent closure due to issues caused by floods, fires and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and neighbor objections.

Some locations obtained financial assistance in modernizing infrastructure and technical equipment that positively impacted performers and concertgoers.

"The notion that money from concerts in large arenas backs the smaller venues, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just common sense," the star has stated.

The musician is among several artists to give his Mercury Prize prize money to charitable organizations.

Back when the band received the award in the year 1996 for their album the album, vocalist the singer announced that the band would give their cash to the charity War Child.

In 2002, artist the artist divided her bounty between a few organizations, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.

"And I donated a thousand pounds to the center, to their classes, because I practiced gymnastics when I was growing up and they lacked better apparatus," she explained to the media.

Two years ago, the band donated their prize money to the community center that developed their group, in addition to other independent music bodies.

And the 1994 recipients they donated their award to a MS organization after a close contact was found to have the disease.

"Receiving the award was ample," stated artist the singer. "The money was the cherry on top but we could do without the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our victory impacted another person's life."

In the past week, the Music Venues Trust revealed it had protected two grassroots venues in the South East, by bringing them into community ownership.

One venue in that area and the second in Bristol were acquired under the public acquisition scheme, which is backed by a national body and music fans who purchase "shares" in the venues.
