I will dominate 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
